For the record - blogchaining personal history
Thus far there have been three turning points in my life, each marking the end of a specific period of how I came about. The first one was my exchange year to Australia, marking an end of childhood and early adolescence that I, indeed, had craved for. The second was my two-year stint in the crumbling Soviet Union, then Russia and Georgia, pressure-cooking me into something vaguely resembling a grown-up man who was about to found his own family and start studying in earnest. The third was my year with the OSCE, which marked the end of my life as a student. The fourth turn is taking place now – the end of my employment with FU Berlin in projects I generated, coinciding with the kids having left or leaving home.
