Die YFU-Vorbereitungswoche in Nienwohld<\/a>, dem Ort, an dem Detlef Buck aufgewachsen ist und auch heute wohnt (“Erst die Arbeit und dann<\/a>“), war kindlich-pubert\u00e4r. Ich erinnere mich an Versteckspiele und schamhafte Fummelversuche mit Sandra und einem anderen M\u00e4dchen im Schrank. Irgendwann wurde es den Betreuern zu bunt und sie machten uns darauf aufmerksam, dass sie sich im Auswahlverfahren auch geirrt haben k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horst took me to Amsterdam Airport and off I went. No memories of the flight, only a pretty wild landing at Singapur Airport (side wind) with all sorts of stuff falling out of the kitchen area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Sydney we spent the first night at university campus with some official welcoming ceremony, all organised by YFU. The Scandinavians wore traditional dresses. Zoo was a little later, I believe (but not sure, could have been part of the programme), a visit to the German consulate with other German exchange students was later and I remember diplomats trying to get friendly with under-age school students as well as a totally hammered sailor or captain. Sydney Opera House was much later, together with Pippa (Phillippa) I believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
